Pixim from Nice, FranceWhich desolation, I adore the contrast collected between these stones full with spines, and these two quite round and smooth tops ;) 12 Nov 2008 8:26pm @Pixim: Thanks for your visit and comment. Paul van der Meer from Valkenswaard, NetherlandsSterke compositie en scherptediepte! Kleurbehandeling is ook perfect! Gr. Paul 12 Nov 2008 10:09pm @Laurent: Thanks for your friendly comment(s). DaveB from Exeter, United KingdomCool, i've been to similar lava fields on Gran Canaria. 13 Nov 2008 9:03am @DaveB: Indeed, I've been there too. Here it's more harsh. Thank you for visiting. @Marhilde: Het handelsmerk (niet de naam) van die landstreek is ook de duivel ;-(= Charles from New York, United StatesInteresting topography. Looks like a beautiful day also. 13 Nov 2008 11:49am @Charles: Thanks. ninni from Belo Horizonte, BrazilBeautiful photo but I get a feeling of danger...:) 13 Nov 2008 12:10pm @ninni: That's the purpose [ of the devil ;-(= ] @Eleftheria!: Thanks. Annie Viguié from Bordeaux, FranceI like the contrast between the first ground rocky and the background , I like very much the smoothness shade of the hills 16 Nov 2008 8:13am @Annie Viguié: Thank you very much for comment and visit. Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesWhat an interesting place... I assume an old lava field? 16 Nov 2008 2:19pm @Earnest: I think not so old. The last eruption was some hundreds of years ago. Thanks for visiting. San G. from Encino, California, United StatesBeautiful image ... Rough territory. Did you do a lot of hiking through it? In California's Death Valley we have a "rough terrain" of salt which is hardened stiff, but it can cut you like a razor. It's hard to hike in. Is this rough lava stuck down or loose? Once again, wonderful capture of view and essence. 17 Nov 2008 3:51am @San G.: We have gone there as far as possible by the entry roads. But its alomst impossible to walk through that terrain. The spiky lavarocks are about 1 mtr. or higher and indeed you tear your shoes and cut your legs and hands. Besides: I'm not a real tough hiker. The lava is real solid and the more spiky. Thanks for your comment and visit, and see you again. Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, GermanyYou can realy believe the title.great shot. 17 Nov 2008 2:09pm @Anthony Lambert: Thanks for your comment. JJ from Jersey City, United Stateswhat an amazing landscape, the reddish colored hill in the background stands out, such an interesting landscape captured beautifully 17 Nov 2008 3:29pm @JJ: Indeed, it's a 'moonscape' (or 'devilscape'?). Thanks. See you. Kathryn from Warburton, Australiareally an amazing place! the red hill really draws your eye and the contrast of textures is very interesting! 17 Nov 2008 6:53pm @Kathryn: And that's all made by some bigger and smaller volcanos. Erikou from FranceQuelle atmosphère !, on se croirait sur la lune, après avoir attéri avec apollo 13 , Joli shoot ;) 17 Nov 2008 8:39pm @Erikou: Yes, I felt like a moonwalker. Merci beaucoup. @Daryl: Thanks for your comment and visiting. See you again. Ken McCoy from Orlando-Daytona Beach, FL, United StatesNice - it's like an alien landscape! 18 Nov 2008 4:43am @Ken McCoy: It's indeed Moon- or Mars- like. You could expect to encounter some creepy stuff. Thanks. Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaThe falling lines and the bare rock surface give this a totally desolate look. A very impressive landscape, then. 18 Nov 2008 8:20pm @Andrew Gould: Thanks for comment and visit. djedfre from schaumburg, United Statescool volcano - looks a lot like Sunset Crater in Arizona... 19 Nov 2008 10:20pm @djedfre: Thanks for your comment and visit.
