Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaA great image with interesting perspective and mystery sign. 1 Dec 2008 2:11pm @Michael Skorulski: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. @Laura: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. Anthony Lambert from Bielefeld, GermanyBrilliant, did you clean the sign off before taking this shot ? 1 Dec 2008 3:01pm @Anthony Lambert: Yes, you do see it well! Alone cleaning did it. Thanks for the compliment. Bye. Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesGreat shot but somehow don't think that the dogs will be walking down here... hehe 1 Dec 2008 4:32pm @Fliss: Thanks for comment and visit. Bye. @Tyson Williams: It's in south of Holland, but it lasted only for ONE day! JJ from Jersey City, United StatesGreat shot, nice natural selective coloring LOL 1 Dec 2008 4:42pm @JJ: There is a saying in Dutch "dogsweather". This was! ninni from Belo Horizonte, BrazilNatural BW:) Just the sign in colour. Great photo! 1 Dec 2008 4:47pm @ninni: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. @Justin: Thanks. Bye. Pradeep from Chennai, IndiaGreat shot!! The red really pops in the monochromatic landscape. Great job!! 1 Dec 2008 5:18pm @Pradeep: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. Disoriented from Grinnell, IA, United StatesSnowfall! It looks like you were able to capture this before the snow was plowed through. Nicely done! 1 Dec 2008 5:20pm @Disoriented: The snow was very fresh and it was snowing still. @faelle: Merci beaucoup. Au revoir! @gbe: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. Pixim from Nice, FranceThe obtained natural effect is really impressive. The winter is really a thief of color, here the panel is hung on well. I like this centred framing, indeed, we stop on the road sign, and it is indeed its role, but we have the choice to follow the perspective in background ;) 1 Dec 2008 6:09pm @Pixim: Thanks for your extensive comment and your visit. Bye. Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainGenial. A great composition, light and idea. The cleaned red of the signal is the point, of course. 1 Dec 2008 6:13pm @Paco Díaz: You understand it as I meant it. @Roland: Glad you see the humour! Gr. Alphons. John from Eureka, United StatesI like the placement of the sign and the contrast of the red circle against the grey snow. 1 Dec 2008 7:11pm @John: Thnak you for your comment and visit. See you. @andrea: Thank you very much. Bye. Kathryn from Warburton, Australiawow! i was convinced that you had used an effect to do this but no. Fantastic!!! great scene and i like the composition! 1 Dec 2008 7:47pm @Kathryn: Nature has the effects herself. @Toomaj: Thanks for your compliment. Bye. @Veronelle: Thank you. Bye. Chris from FranceSo many comments already ! Difficult to say something original. Nevertheless, this is one I would have liked to have taken ! 1 Dec 2008 8:36pm @Chris: Thanks for your compliment. Bye. Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomVery well spotted, its one of those images that just works so well. 1 Dec 2008 8:45pm @Richard_Irwin: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesExcellent capture here... yes, I was suspicious of processing... but you answered that. 1 Dec 2008 8:45pm @Earnest: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceNice shot. And it's very interesting to see that the only place with no snow is the dog sign… 1 Dec 2008 9:38pm @Calusarus: By cleaning it by hand! Charles from New York, United StatesGreat shot. I like the way you cleaned the sign. I never would have thought of that! Looks great. 1 Dec 2008 9:39pm @Charles: (A physical way of 'colorprocessing'!) Thanks for your compliment. Bye. @Ana Lúcia: Thanks. Bye. Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsEen bijna cartoon-achtige schiterende foto! Bye! Grahame from Mt Maunganui, New ZealandLove the splash of red in a monotone world. 1 Dec 2008 11:06pm @Grahame: Thanks! Bye! manel from Girona, SpainMuy buena. Stephen Phillips from San Francisco, United StatesA really fine and fun capture. I mean no offense when suggesting you may keep the white stuff. Brrrr. 2 Dec 2008 12:35am @Stephen Phillips: I'm glad it lasted only for ONE day, enough to take some photo's. Ken McCoy from Orlando-Daytona Beach, FL, United StatesA wonderful splash of color - good eye! 2 Dec 2008 12:51am @Ken McCoy: Thanks and goodbye. dominik from Paris, FranceNice composition. I like it... Très belle symétrie et effet de matière... 2 Dec 2008 1:27am @dominik: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. Suzanne from Huntington Bch, United StatesThis is one of those images where somebody is just bound to say, "nice photo, too bad it's not in color." ;o) 2 Dec 2008 1:46am @Suzanne: (If is in full-colour {;-) ) Alaukika from Pune, IndiaThis looks like a drawing someone did it with pencil with red circle in the middle. A beautiful art, of course. 2 Dec 2008 2:01am @Alaukika: It is purely natural. (The only thing I did was whiping off the shield). I love it when that happens, when there is just a splash of colour amongst the natural black and white of a snow covered scene. 2 Dec 2008 4:19am @bluechameleon: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. One from Açores, PortugalAn exceptional composition ! Very good job, congratulations !! ... But in Holland the dogs know the road signs ? :-) 2 Dec 2008 4:56am @One: (The dogs are very clever in Holland {;-) ). @Zing: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. Frédéric A. from Païta, New CaledoniaAh ah, excellent, plein de finesse et d'humour. Chapeau et joli prise de vue. 2 Dec 2008 7:13am @Frédéric A.: Merci beaucoup pur votre compliment. Au revoir. akarui from Kagoshima, JapanBelle photo hivernale et perspective. Le rouge du panneau ressort tres bien. 2 Dec 2008 7:24am @akarui: Merci. akarui from Kagoshima, JapanSorry for the mistake about posting in French. Beautiful winter picture and perspective with the red sign. 2 Dec 2008 7:27am @akarui: I can understand French a little bit, but not write in it. @Siam: Thank you. Goodbye. Tot ziens. djedfre from schaumburg, United Statesbeautiful! good thing that 'dog' has long legs - he'll need 'em! 2 Dec 2008 10:07am @hamidook: Thanks for your comment and visit. Bye. Cheryl from Texas, United Statesawsome shot! the lines draw the eye to the "back" of the image. The red is much like a selective colour image which I love. awsome image 2 Dec 2008 1:54pm @Cheryl: Thank you very much for the great compliment. Bye. @DaveB: Thanks for the compliment. Bye. @Eleftheria!: Thank you. Goodbye! @Giovanni: Glad that you see the humour in it. Thanks. Bye. @Antonio: Thank you very much. See you again. @Florence: Thank you very much! Bye. kerfendal from Paris, FranceI am very fond of the terse style of this pic, a very poetic mood, we feel the silent, forbidden for dogs and ...human being :)) 2 Dec 2008 5:20pm @kerfendal: But not forbidden for photographers {;-) Michael Rawluk from Williams Lake, BC, CanadaThat colour sure pops out. I love this shot. 2 Dec 2008 5:24pm @Michael Rawluk: Thank you very much. Bye. Rags from Plano, United StatesAwesoeme image. Superbly composed. Your use of lines here is top notch. 2 Dec 2008 5:40pm @Rags: Thanks for the great compliment. Bye. Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesThe red really took over the entire picture! Such a small dot but the color and the doggy stole the show. But you know what, the tree behind it could be another great shot. Nice work Alphons. 2 Dec 2008 5:41pm @Howard F.: Thanks for comment and compliment. Bye. Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomWe all need the warmth of a smile as this cold weather descends upon us. Love the simple impact of this and your note about there being no trickery ! 2 Dec 2008 6:34pm @Ronnie 2¢: Thanks for your extensive comment. Bye. San G. from Encino, California, United StatesI really like what Pixim says, "The winter is really a thief of color". I searched through it and it appears to warm up only at eye level (horizon?). The bleakness is warmed by this "NO DOGS" sign, and I would love to see an adventurous dog defy the authorities on a day like that ... AFTER the pristine photographs are taken. This is a really wonderful statement, worth publishing. 2 Dec 2008 9:06pm @San G.: I didn't know there was a kind of philosophy around this photo and around the snow in general, but I like the statement. Denise from Perry, United StatesExcellant!!!! What some of us to try and "make" a photo like this..... 3 Dec 2008 2:54am @Denise: Thank you for the compliment. Bye. Mehdi from Sydney, AustraliaThat's a nice shot! I like who the sign is in middle of two rows of trees as well as the Red Circle around the sign is outstanding becuase of it's color in this B&W like photo. 3 Dec 2008 3:49am @Mehdi: Thanks for the compliment and the comment. Bye. @Linerberry: Thank you for the compliment. Bye. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomThere is more on the way...!! Super shot. 3 Dec 2008 8:53am @Observing: Bedankt voor het compliment. Tot ziens. Laurent from Lyon, Francea lot humour on this picture. You made me laugh today ;o) 3 Dec 2008 12:37pm @Laurent: Glad you're happy {;-) . Bye. @Ada Panich: Thanks for the compliment. Bye, Ada. willow from Chelsea, United StatesGreat shot! I like the converging lines of trees and, of course, the brilliant red sign. 4 Dec 2008 12:10am @willow: Thanks for the compliment and comment. Bye. Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaAs this was not a postprocessing job, the striking contrast of the red, in what otherwise appears to be a monochrome shot, was a great find. Beautifullly composed, with the placement of those vertical lines. This is a real winner! 4 Dec 2008 3:51am @Andrew Gould: Thanks for great compliment and the extensive comment. Bye. @sophron: Thanks for the compliment. See you again. @Polydactyle: Thank you very much. Bye. Doug from Long Beach, United StatesI must admit, when first I looked at this, before reading the caption, I thought, I bet that red really was the only color in real life for this shot. It just seemed too pure (sometimes the manipulation of the photos lends them a certain artificiality). And sure enough, it was. Who needs Photoshop when you have wonderful nature? 5 Dec 2008 5:56am @Doug: It looked indeed very special for me. And the touch of humour. No dogs and so many trees! Nishana Minhaz from Calicut / Kochi, IndiaWhoa! That's a ccol find! I thought you had done post processing to desaturate the colours.. I like your framing too. Keep clicking! :) 5 Dec 2008 8:38am @Nishana Minhaz: Thank you very much for comment and visit. Marhilde from Geraardsbergen, BelgiumHeel tof ! {;-). Tot ziens. @rain girl: Thanks for comment and visit. Vink from Grasse - French riviera, FranceBelle perspective hivernale !
